The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program provides merit-based scholarships of up to $10,000 to female students entering their junior or senior year of college during the 2011-12 school year. Applicants must be pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, Web design or other IT-related disciplines.

Eligibility: To be considered, you must:
1. Be a female college student entering your junior or senior year of college in fall 2011.
2. Be enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university in the United States for the entire 2011-12 academic year.
3. Be pursuing a major in computer science, computer engineering, Web design, or another IT-related discipline.
4. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Hertz Graduate Fellowship Award 2011-2012

The annual competition for Graduate Fellowships begins with the application period which opens each year in August at which time a deadline consistent with those of NSF and other fellowship granting organizations will be posted. Only those applications which are complete, with all supporting materials and documents provided (including Reference Reports) by the posted deadline will be assured of full consideration by the Foundation. Untimely or incompletely-submitted applications will be entertained only at the Foundation’s discretion and convenience.

Each year’s competition concludes at the end of the following March, at which time the Foundation’s Board of Directors determines the most highly qualified Fellowship applicants and the number of new Fellowships which available resources will be able to support.

University Scholarship for Tanzanian students from Switzerland Government in 2011/2012

Job Description: The university scholarships are intended for post-graduate students only, with as special emphasis put on Research Fellowships. Applicants who already hold a Master degree and wish to undertake a second (or 3rd) Master degree are not considered a priority for the Swiss Government Scholarships. Multiplying the Master degrees will not be encouraged by the Federal Commission for Scholarship (FCS). Besides, please be aware that for Master programs, the FCS does not pay for Master tuition fees.

Candidates should not be older than 35 years (i.e. born after 1 January 1976).

Before applying, you must find out whether your planned study program or research project can be carried out at the university concerned. Therefore, you will have to contact the Professor or the Administrator responsible for the postgraduate course. You will have to submit copies of your diploma with grades, a detailed study plan (see guidelines for details) and a curriculum vitae.
