Ford Motor Company Scholarships
Founding Father of the American Auto and Industry as We Know it
The Ford Motor Company was instrumental in much more than just the birth of the automobile in 1903. The company was the pioneer in mass production, which ushered in the Industrial Age. Since that time the company has acquired worldwide wealth along with a number of other renowned and popular vehicle makes, including Lincoln, Mercury and Jaguar.
Educational Philanthropy Transcends World Borders
Ford’s commitment to education encompasses North America, Asia and Europe where its educational programs fund textbook supplies and mentor high school students looking for an edge in business and industry.
Scholarships through Ford’s educational programs include:
- Society of Manufacturing Engineers Ford PAS Scholarships offer three $10,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have also participated in the PAS program. The Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (PAS) program fits high school students into informal internship or mentor situations where they may observe and learn from business people and academics. PAS emphasizes the underrepresented students and promotes their education in the Sciences, engineering, math and technical fields.
- The Henry Ford Academy scholarship goes to one outstanding student alumni of the Ford Academy. The Academy is a “charter school” in Michigan that offers an innovative education that engages students in a range of courses that include those oriented to “life in the 21st century.” The scholarship is $10,000 to be put toward a four-year undergraduate program.

I am seeking a scholarship to attend Universal Tech. Inst. I have an affinity for cars/trucks and desire this to be my career. My grandfather is a Ford retiree. I am African/American. What financial package does Ford have for me.
I am willing to work for the company after completion of the 52 week program. This is a “no lose” situation for both parties.

My family is an avid belief in driving Ford products. Recently my family was in a bad accident and thankfully no one was hurt except my mom’s Ford Expedition which substained over $18,000 worth of repairs. We were thankful that we were in such a well built vehicle to not have any injuries even though the air bags deployed. I am seeking a scholarship to attend Texas A & M in the fall. My family will have two children in college and it will create an extra financial burden for them. I would appreciate you consider me for one of your Ford scholarships.
Thank you
Matthew

Note to each of the 4 applicants listed above…. With all due respect, each one of you need to have a friend or parent pfoof read what you have written before submitting this request. Each of you have spelling errors, and grammatical errors. Corporations take this into consideration when evaluating your request. With todays Spell Check technology errors are not acceptable. Also, each of you played the victim card with your request. Instead, sell yourself…your passion or your ambition to achieve a certain goal or career aspiration in life. Shoot for the stars and be positive. Just a word to the wise.
To Jairius: When I read your posting my perception is you think that Ford “owes” you a grant because your grandfather worked for Ford and you are Black. Saying “What financial package does Ford have for me” seems like you are just standing there with your hand out waiting for Uncle Henry to fill it with greenbacks. Sorry dude, that is the wrong approach. I believe Universal Technical Institute will train you to be a dealer technician…that is a terrific career path, but really, is not beneficial to Ford Motor Company. They don’t hire the mechanics that are employed at those dealerships or do they own those dealerships. You too have to sell yourself to the owners of those businesses.
Each of you have to think of yourselves as a business or a product that is for sale. You are competing with all other products (others looking for jobs) for the same opportunity. Do something to make yourself look or appear superior to the others. Example…Volenteering in community groups is a sign of leadership. Be a leader, step outside your comfort zone.
Please just remember, nobody owes you a thing. Getting ahead in life takes hard work, drive & determination. That’s what makes a winner. A winner is driven. Each one of you have that opportunity to be a winner. That’s a choice that you will make. Life is full of choices & those choices that you will make all have consequences. Good Luck from a former Ford Motor Company manager.
