QUESTIONS ANSWERS ABOUT THE program

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

Applicants must be full time or part time active employees of Prospect Airport Services in good standing with a clean work record, and must be must have been continuously employed by PAS for a period of one year prior to March 1st of the year of application submission. Applicants may be high school seniors, high school graduates or students currently enrolled in college. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale where available.
When does the program start?

The online applications will be available after February 15, 2010. Interested applicants may apply online at www.scholarshipprograms.org or request a paper application by contacting CSA by mail at P. When is the deadline for submission of materials?

All materials must be submitted to CSA with a postmark no later than April 15, 2010. All materials must be mailed in ONE envelope. If you applied online and received a confirmation of submission you may send just the additional materials required.
What constitutes a complete application packet?

1. A completed application form, including the signed Terms of Agreement.

2. Official transcript with grades and cumulative GPA posted through Fall 2009.

3. Signed Letter of recommendation from teacher/professor or employer.

4. Signed Personal Statement regarding importance of scholarship, college and or career plans.

5. List of academic honors, leadership positions, and community service.

6. Signed copy of parent`s FEDERAL TAX FORM 1040 (pages one and two only) and W-2 forms for both parents (if applicable) for the latest year these forms were filed. If you file as an independent and are not claimed on your parent`s tax forms, you must submit the above information for yourself.
What is the value of the scholarship award?

The number of recipients and the amount of the scholarships will be decided by the donor on an annual basis. Award amounts will be between $500.00 and $4000.00 based on costs at the student’s school of choice and other financial aid received by the recipient. The award will be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies and should not exceed these costs. Students must be active employees of Prospect at the time of the award notification to receive the award.
What schools may I attend?

You must be enrolled at any accredited, public or private 2 or 4 year college, university, technical college, community college or vocational school. Full time or part time enrollment is acceptable.
What if I am unable to attend consecutive semesters?

Extenuating circumstances requiring a student to sit out a semester must be explained in writing to CSA. You will be notified of the final decision.
How are winners selected?

Awards Advisory Committee considers respective ability, educational goals, career ambitions, and financial need.
How will I be notified if I am chosen as a recipient?

All applicants will be notified of the decisions of the committee.
Is this scholarship renewable?

The scholarship is not renewable, but may be applied for in subsequent years, or until a bachelor’s degree is awarded, whichever is earlier.
