Lexus is one of the best-selling ears in Southwest Florida,so it may be noteworthy that the auto company has launched a national environmental education program for middle and high school students that has some monetary rewards .
After all,it seems that with all the luxury automobiles on the road here ,the community shuld compete for and possibly benefit from some of and grants being offered.

The “Lexus Enviromental Chang”is a program designed to get students to take action to improve the enviroment. The program encourages middle school and high school students to develop and implement environmental program that positively impact their communities.
More than $1million in scholarships and grants will be awaded to students,teachers and schools
The luxury automaker has created the program with Scholastic the glogal children`s publishing ,education and media company .
The program includes educatinal materials to use creative lesson plans about environment in their classrooms.The contest helps students apply what they have learned by participatal in one of four environmetal team challengs.
The four challenges are centered around different environment issues;land water quslity,air quality and climate change,Deadlines vary but range from Oct.5 to Jan.7.
Each of the four challenges will have 16 winning teams-eight middle school and eight high school teams .The winning teams will each receive $3000 in scholarshis and grants .The winning submissions will also be featured on the Web in an effort to inspire other students to take action in their communities.

The  64 winners will be invited to participate in a final challenge,where teams will develop an environmental program with the petential to affect the world .Lexus will select 14 finalists.
