The MENA scholarship Programme is initiated and fully funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This
ministry has contracted Nuffic, the Netherlands organization for international cooperation in higher
education to administer the MENA Scholarship Programme.

The MENA Scholarship Programme aims to contribute to capacity building within organizations and institutions in the six selected countries: Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman and Syria. Moreover, a network of over 100 alumni positively contributes to the relations between their respective countries and the Netherlands.

Coverage

A MENA scholarship is a contribution to the costs of the chosen short course. The following items are covered: subsistence allowance, international travel costs, visa costs, tuition fee, medical insurance and an allowance for study materials. The Dutch institution pays the MENA allowances to the scholarship holder.

Deadlines

Applications are directly submitted to the Embassy. There are two application deadlines for the MENA Scholarship Programme. The deadline is either 1 March 2010 or 1 July 2010,depending on the selected course. You can find the deadlines on the MENA course list. For candidates from Iraq some courses have different application deadlines. Please check this on the course list. The selection of candidates takes place after the application deadline.
