The Home Depot Trade scholarship program
Professional contractors and tradespeople are important to The Home Depot. That’s why we are always striving to meet their needs by providing personalized customer service, the lowest possible prices and the right merchandise in our stores.
The Home Depot Trade scholarship program is our way of helping to meet the needs of the future and current generation of building and construction trade professionals develop their skills for a bright future.
The Home Depot has more than tripled a $300,000 scholarship fund it first established in 2009, providing $1 million in funding for 2010 to support students attending professional building and construction trade schools. And this year’s program will not only support individual students, but also the schools they attend.
Specifically, $1,000 scholarships will be available to 500 trade school students to help them offset the cost of tuition, books and tools for their chosen trade. The schools of the scholarship recipients will receive additional funds for classrooms tools from The Home Depot Foundation through matching gifts of $1,000 for each scholarship awarded to one or more of their students.

The application deadline for current scholarship awards is April 30, 2010.
Recipients of our fall Trade Scholarship awards will be notified in September 2010.

What i would like to say is that this is great that home depot and other department stores are allowing students to achieve their dreams and goals by helping out in financial aid. Im a Senior in Arcadia Highschool preparing to graduate and move on towards my next step in like to be succesful and scholarships such as this one would surely guide me to right path to become a future Automotive Technician at UTI.

I can not believe this! Last year this was so easy to apply for, and this year it feels like it is impossible. All I want is a simple application to fill out, so where do I have to go to get one? For the record, last year I did receive a scholarship when I applied. So, to all others, don’t give up hope. If you actually get an application it is worth it.

I cannot access the application nor can I find guidelines….it does not open up to that. Help!

Is this not being offered for 2011? Or os it just expected for us to use the 2010 application?

After speaking with HR at Home Depot, Inc., they have informed me that they are not sure it will be offered for the 2011, 2012 school year. More information will be released by mid summer.
