WENATCHEE — The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) 2010 Universal scholarship Application is now available at waef.org.

The application allows students to apply for awards from more than 70 individual scholarship funds. More than 100 scholarships will be awarded this spring by WAEF to college students raised in tree fruit districts of Washington, potentially representing $400,000 in scholarship aid.

New awards added to the 2010 WAEF Universal Scholarship Application are:

C. G. Robbins Memorial: Open to Highland high school students.

Migrant Student Leadership & Academics Scholarship: Open to migrant students with high community service involvement and strong academics.

Oneonta Trading/Cooprider: Open to Hispanic students raised in the industry and participating in college level athletics.

Pace International: Open to students pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry or other related field in preparation for production agriculture.

Robert Prince Memorial: Open to students from Chelan and Okanogan counties whose parents are employed in the industry.

Thomas K. Mathison Memorial: Open to students raised in the industry or preparing for a tree fruit industry career.

Zirkle Fruit Company: Open to students raised in tree fruit industry districts.

Applications must be submitted to the WAEF office no later than March 1 for consideration.
