The McLaren Foundation is pleased to announce the following scholarships available for the 2010-2011 academic year. These scholarships were made possible through the generosity of the Rachor Family Foundation.
Each scholarship was named for McLaren nursing professionals who have made a significant contribution to the profession. Scholarship recipients will receive $1,000.00.
Summary of the Scholarships:
Stacey Braden-Brown, RN Nursing Scholarship
$1,000 award given to a student pursuing a nursing degree at Mott Community College or UM-Flint. Preference given to individuals who are single parents and/or had an interruption in their education.
Aretha Brock, LPN Nursing Scholarship
$1,000 award given to a student pursuing a nursing degree at Mott Community College or UM-Flint.
Joenathan Mays Nurse Aide Scholarship
$1,000 award given to a student pursuing Nurse Aide education at Mott Community College. Preference given to applicants who are single parents and/or had an interruption in education.
Mary Alice Moore, R.N. Nursing Scholarship
$1,000 award given to a student pursuing a nursing degree at Mott Community College or UM-Flint.
Patti Sherry, R.N. Memorial Nursing Scholarship
$1,000 award given to a student pursuing a nursing degree at Mott Community College or UM-Flint. Preference given to applicants who have taken care of cancer patients (including family members) or have been cancer patients themselves.

Selection Process: Review of application and other requested documentation, plus review of previous work history and possible interview by the Scholarship committee.
Important Notes: For every $1,000 received in scholarships, a one-year work commitment by the awardee is required. Additional qualification items, including time and attendance, will be found in a Personnel file review. Existence of any corrective actions will be grounds for disqualification. Discussion with current Manager and interview with the Scholarship committee will be required.
