How to Apply / Award Process

The Lowe’s Scholarship
Lowe’s will award one hundred forty (140) $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors who intend to enroll in an undergraduate course of study in the U.S. for the 2010-2011 school year.

Eligibility:

The Lowe’s Scholarship is available to all eligible students within the United States, including Lowe’s employees and their children. Eligible candidates must:
Be current high school seniors
Maintain a minimum 3.25 Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale)
Demonstrate a history of commitment to their community through leadership activities, community service and/or work experience

The Carl Buchan Scholarship
Lowe’s will award fifty (50) $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors and current college undergraduates who intend to enroll in an undergraduate course of study for the 2010-2011 school year.

Eligibility:

The Carl Buchan Scholarship is ONLY available to U.S. full- and part-time regular Lowe’s employees, their spouses/domestic partners and their dependents. Eligible candidates must:
Be high school seniors or current college undergraduates who have completed at least one full semester at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school in the United States
Be an employee (or a qualified relative of an employee) who has at least 90 days of service with Lowe’s as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarships are awarded. The employee must still be employed at the time awards are announced.
Maintain a minimum 3.25 Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale)
Demonstrate a history of commitment to their community through leadership activities, community service and/or work experience

program Guidelines:

Scholarship awards may be used at any accredited two- or four- year college, university, or technical school within the United States
Scholarship funds may be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, books, lab fees and required class supplies
Awards are not renewable; however, students can reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements
A student may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award
How to Apply / Award Process
The deadline for applications for the 2010/2011 Scholarship Programs was February 26, 2010.
Applications will be accepted for the 2011/2012 program beginning January 1, 2011.
