I had a friend who was majoring in music in college. She told me to play viola.. there are not many people who do and there are many scholarships available for them.

I know that there are Catholic colleges, such as College of the Holy Cross that give a full ride to a student that can play the organ at mass. I have heard that it is similar to the piano, so you may be able to pick it up. If not, the trumpet is a good option to try to get into a marching band. Just be aware that the more popular the instrument, the more people trying for those scholarships. Good luck!
