So many times I have heard people complain about affirmative action, black colleges, BET, and UNCF. I don’t know if it is more that these entities are misunderstood, or people really think they are racist. People have to know that all of these entities were formed to give African Americans a chance at a time when we had none. None of these entities say kill whitey or nothing of that sort. So what is the big deal with this? Is it just cluelessness or ignorance. I really don’t know. Anybody with half a brain should know that they are not a source of racism, but a source of empowerment. If we need to get rid of BET, or UNCF, should we also get rid of the WE channel and scholarship that are formed for women?
staplu, how is the WE channel any different then BET, both are geared towards a certain demographic. What is the difference between scholarships for women, and sholarships for minorities. Should we get rid of telemundo too? As for the WET channel scenario, 90% of tv is predomiantly white. CBS, TNT, TBS, until the mid 90′s you would rarly see black sitcoms on tv. So once again what is the problem. You already have your own station look at CMT, do you feel that telemundo should be taken off tv?

Its pure madness
NAACP every minority has something similar just not well known.
Black colleges they made that when blacks were not allowed in main colleges. They are still called black colleges but you don’t have to be black to go. There are some white students who go to schools like Howard University.
B.E.T. every channel specializes in something, bravo is for women mainly. Anyways B.E.T. is less of a black channel its a Urban Culture channel that is heavily influenced by black people. But you don’t need to be black to be apart of that culture such as paul wall. And also just because your black does not mean your apart of that culture.
What this really is a case of is. . . .
Men who are sad and lonely and with their vast amounts of free time they find something to focus their anger on. Just get that man a hot GF a fulfilling job and he will be like, who cares.

You can not compare women with blacks and whites those are 2 totally different topics but anyways .. people complain about the things that are only for black people because if we had “White Entertainment Television” then it would be racist it probably wouldn’t even make it on television to see if it would cause a problem because people already know that it would. What if we had all white scholarships? Then it would be racist but yet having scholarships for all blacks is fine? If everyone is supposed to be treated equal then everyone should have the same opportunity to get the same scholarships no matter what color you are. If you took everything that was only for black people and made it into white then maybe you would understand why people complain. Everything that black people fought for they are now doing by singling themselves out so they have different stuff then white people and now they are doing it to themselves everyone else is trying to keep it equal.

You are correct. People who complain about this are illogical anyways so there is no point in reasoning with them. A deranged jellyfish can figure this out.

We are going to have to slowly phase out all racially exclusive entities as the society integrates.At what point will a “helper”be no longer needed and become a stumbling block on the path to a fully integrated society? I do not see these agency’s dying off but expect them to evolve and change with the country.As for the short sighted arguments involving exclusive entities, remember that they are all double edged blades.

Whites love it when Black people come to them whining for help and handouts. When Black people decide they have had enough of eating the crumbs that Caucasians push off their table, and decide they want to go make a table of their own , Whites become apprehensive.
They say they want us to be independent and do for ourselves, but the moment we actually do that, they start throwing roadblocks in our way to trip us up and destroy our plans.
White just need to ask one simply question: What are the objectives of the group.
The KKK wants to exterminate ALL nonwhite people. The NAACP wants to petition the government and make them be fair to us. The NAACP is not interested in violence. Neither is Minister Farrakhan. Caucasians suffer from paranoia, and psychosis. They worry about insignificant things while seemingly do not even see the real horrors they are perpetrating on others every day.
