Problem by confusedkid: must I stay at residence and go to a commuter university, or move out?
wondering whether or not I should transfer Universities? I go to Florida Atlantic university , FAU, (a school in Boca Raton, FL filled with students who commute back and fourth). I graduated substantial college in 2009, and I do not like going here due to the fact I can’t have the normal college expertise.

My mother and father are stringent and I have absolutely no socialize life. I didn’t have a social lifestyle in higher school both. I see children in my courses and all around campus and I just really feel so different due to the fact I by no means had the very same social encounters. As lengthy as I’m dwelling all around my dad and mom I simply cannot socialize with individuals –going to events, or even going out for lunch or to watch a film.

I chose to go to FAU simply because of fiscal reasons. Tutition is free for me at all state colleges simply because I have a scholarship from the state, but my mothers and fathers simply cannot assistance me if I transfer (hire, foods, transportation, dwelling expenditures, and so on.).

Right now I have a actually large GPA. Im majoring in background and taking science pre-reqs to implement to Med school, Podiatry college, and PA school soon after I get my bachelors degree. If I stay at FAU, I can finish my science pre-reqs and heritage major by Summertime 2012 (which means, I would have completed my bachelor’s degree in three years…although I will be able to end my degree by summer, I will not be ready to start off med school, podiatry university, PA school till the subsequent yr in Fall 2013 anyways since I would nonetheless have to get the MCAT and/or GRE). So, even if I stay down the following, I’ll graduate early, but will nonetheless have to wait around a yr before I can go away to graduate college.

So, im thinking about transferring to UCF (College of Central Florida) or UF (College of Florida) to complete my undergrad. But,that would mean I would graduate in Spring 2013, with the typical 4 many years of school, and I could have the summer off, and commence my graduate program in the Fall. But I would have to get out federal loans tto help me while im absent.

So, must I remain at FAU? Or transfer to UCF/UF?

If you can make it operate economically, transferring would seem like it would be a good concept. Dependent on how considerably your scholarship gives (just tuition or tuition and/or living and/or food) your loans probably wouldn’t be too bad. I would imagine you could shell out them off given that you are likely to graduate with a practical degree. You could also attempt and find a element time work close to campus.

Considering that you are contemplating careers exactly where you would interact daily with all kinds of men and women, developing your social skills appears like it would be worthwhile and needed. Just make certain you do not have “also considerably enjoyable.” I only say that since whilst I was at college I observed individuals who came from rigorous backgrounds not know how to appropriately deal with their new found freedom. This wasn’t often the scenario just be mindful. Very good luck!
