I will be attending University of Central Florida in the fall of 2011 and would like to enroll with a double major in Political Science and Legal/Paralegal Studies and a minor in German.

I am in the Legal Academy at my high school and President of the Mock Trial, so the double majors shouldn’t be anything I would have trouble understanding. I am in AP German after skipping German 3, so German isn’t a problem either. My ultimate career goal is being a judge.

Would anyone recommend this course of action or advise against it? I received a scholarship and do not have to worry about working my way to pay for college.

It probably wouldn’t be a matter of how hard it is, but how long it will take. The difficulty would come from having to take heavier class loads consisting of more credits then just a single major. You can also just take more time to finish school. Though I can’t say for sure, there may be quite a few classes that you would take which would be used for both political science and legal/paralegal studies. Which would help minimize the difficulty of doing both. The German would fulfill some general courses you would have to take anyway, but would also just be extra classes you have to take.
