Without a doubt, I think the most important factor when acquiring a letter of recommendation is asking the appropriate person for this potentially valuable document. Apparently this is a primary issue, not only to me but to other scholarship providers as well, as a recent conversation with a fellow scholarship provider confirmed. It’s pretty simple to those of us in the field: “Don’t ask someone to recommend you for something about which they know nothing”. A BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF CHINESE GOVERNMENT scholarship PROGRAMMES

In order to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the Chinese people and people from all over the world, and to develop cooperation and exchanges in fields of politics, economy, culture, education and trade between China and other countries, Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship schemes to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to undertake studies and researches in Chinese higher education institutions (Chinese HEIs).

International students under Chinese Government Scholarship Programs (hereinafter referred to as scholarship students) will be allocated in Chinese HEIs or Chinese research institutes designated by the Ministry of Education of P. R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) to pursue their proposed studies in the areas related to science, technology, agriculture, medicine, Economics, law, management, education, history, liberal arts and philosophy.

MOE formulates Chinese government scholarship plans on an annual basis, and entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of Chinese Government Scholarship Programs.

Chinese Government Scholarship Program 2011 for International Students

Chinese Government Scholarship program is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of Chinese Government scholarship Programs.

Scholarship Application Deadline: April 30th, 2011

APPLICATION

Applicants shall apply to Chinese diplomatic missions or dispatching authorities between January and April every year. Applicants may contact the above authorities for deadlines for application.

CRITERIA and ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

2. Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma with good academic performance and be under the age of 25.
- Applicants for master’s degree program must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
- Applicants for Chinese training program must have senior high school diploma and be under the age of 35, Chinese language is the only subject available.
- Applicants for general scholar program must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study and be under the age of 45, all subjects besides Chinese language are available.

Kenza Foundation Scholarship Program 2011 – 2012 in France

Kenza Foundation annually supports a number of students in fine arts and art history from three Parisian institutions of excellence to continue their studies abroad. The amount of scholarships is determined by country of destination of the winners and may reach 10,000 €. The foundation plans to award four scholarships for the academic year 2011-2012, including a scholarship specifically European in partnership with the Fondation Hippocrene.

STUDENTS CONCERNED

To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:
You are a French citizen and you are under 28 years on 1 January 2011;

The deadline for applications for school year 2011-2012 is December 15, 2010. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Students invited to the second round encounter the jury including members of the board of the Foundation and personalities.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program in 2010

Seniors in high schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply each year for one of 250 four-year, achievement-based scholarships.

Approximately 2,200 applicants are selected as Semifinalists in mid-November and notified by mail and email. Semifinalists must then complete a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Semifinalist applications are due by mid-January. Our program Review Committee will select 250 Finalists to advance to the final interview phase. Notifications are sent mid-February.

In April, the 250 Finalists are invited to Atlanta for personal interviews. The Finalists are interviewed by a National Selection Committee representing outstanding leaders in business, government, education and the arts. 50 students are then designated as National Scholars and receive awards of $20,000 for college; 200 students are designated as Regional Scholars and receive awards of $10,000 for college.

2010-2011scholarships for international students citizens of the USA

job description: The first Churchill Scholarships, three in number, were awarded in 1963 and funded one year of study. Shortly thereafter the Scholarships were available either for one-year programs or for doctoral studies at Cambridge. In the early 1980’s the Foundation decided to support only one-year programs in order to increase the number of Churchill Scholars. In its early years the Foundation also made small travel grants to Churchill Fellows, distinguished senior faculty who would spend one year at the College. Eight of the Churchill Fellows won the Nobel Prize.

The Winston Churchill Foundation awards at least thirteen Scholarships and hopes to increase that number to fifteen soon. The one-year awards lead to the Masters of Philosophy (MPhil), the Certificate of Post-Graduate Study (CPGS in different fields), the Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS in theoretical or applied mathematics), and a Diploma (in Computer Science).

Eligibility Applicants for a Churchill scholarship must be citizens of the United States and must be a senior who is enrolled in one of the institutions participating in the scholarship program competition or a student who has recently graduated from one of those institutions. Upon taking up a scholarship, a Churchill Scholar must be between the ages of 19 and 26, hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, and may not have attained a doctorate.
