Scholarship program 2011-2012 from HONDA Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

HONDA Malaysia Sdn Bhd and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are looking for 20 determined, underprivileged youths for the Honda Dreams Fund (HDF) 2011 intake.

The company is encouraging youths aged between 17 and 24 who have dreams to fulfill but lack the funds to do it, to apply for the scholarship.

“It is always our hope to assist deserving underprivileged Malaysian students by providing the scholarship to young and aspiring minds. HDF is now into its fifth year. By this year, we will have 100 HDF scholars in total,” Honda Malaysia CEO Yoichiro Ueno told a news conference to announce the launch of the 2011 intake on Tuesday.

The scholarship is open to those who have at least completed and passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia examination, with a combined household income of less than RM1,500 per month.

It is also a non-binding full scholarship and scholars are free to select their course of study at the institution of their choice. Successful applicants will also receive RM500 allowance per month and those living away from home will have their rental expenses covered too.

Honda Malaysia allocates about RM1 million for the HDF programme each year.

Applications for the scholarship opened on Jan 5 and since then, roadshows have been held in 13 locations throughout seven states to reach out to more underprivileged youths, especially those in rural communities. To date, close to 700 applications have been received.

The roadshows were held in Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Sarawak, Johor, Perlis and lastly, the Klang Valley. During the roadshows, on-the-spot applications were taken when applicants were interviewed instead of having to send in 500 word essays.

Ueno said this was better for students who are not so good at articulating their dreams in words.

Golden Apple Scholarships programs 2011-2012

The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois is a scholarship program for students who want to be school teachers. Founded in 1985, the Golden Apple organization was established to honor Chicago-area teachers for their work in the classroom. Since then, the organization has grown, continuing to honor outstanding teachers and also to prepare future teacher and strengthen current teachers. As of 2010, more than 1,100 Golden Apple Scholars were either attending college or had already graduated and were teaching in Illinois classrooms.

    Eligibility

  1. Illinois high school students who are interested in a teaching career are eligible to apply for the Golden Apples Scholars program. Students can apply for the scholarship beginning in May of their junior year and continuing through November of their senior year. Kenza Foundation Scholarship Program 2011 – 2012 in France

Kenza Foundation annually supports a number of students in fine arts and art history from three Parisian institutions of excellence to continue their studies abroad. The amount of scholarships is determined by country of destination of the winners and may reach 10,000 €. The foundation plans to award four scholarships for the academic year 2011-2012, including a scholarship specifically European in partnership with the Fondation Hippocrene.

STUDENTS CONCERNED

To be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:
You are a French citizen and you are under 28 years on 1 January 2011;
You are a graduate of Bachelor and continue on the date of filing nomination, higher education, mainly in one of the following schools: Ecole du Louvre, Paris I, III or IV Sorbonne (art history), School Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris;
